The Nanny (Dadı) (translated)
Dadı is a Turkish sitcom produced by Medyapım and adapted from the American sitcom The Nanny. Starring Gülben Ergen, Haldun Dormen, Kenan Işık and Seray Sever, it premiered on Show TV on 9 February 2001, where it ran until 28 December 2001, before moving to Star TV on 19 January 2002 and lasting three seasons in total.
The story follows Melek, a bridal-shop saleswoman who dreams of marriage; after her boyfriend leaves her, she by chance becomes the nanny to the three children of Ömer Giritli, a wealthy widower. Unused to this refined, rule-bound household, she faces unexpected situations while a bond gradually forms between her and her employer. The adaptation stays close to the original scripts with minor localization, and additionally features five original episodes written by Tayfun Güneyer about Melek and Ömer's life after marriage, which appear in no other version of the format.
