Taner Turan — Biography

Taner Turan was born on December 17, 1969; sources differ on his birthplace, giving both İzmit and Erzurum, though he completed primary and middle school in İzmit. A graduate of the Acting Department of the Performing Arts program at Anadolu University State Conservatory, he spent eight years at the Sivas State Theatre and then worked at the Bursa State Theatre until the first half of 2018, both acting in and directing plays such as Bağdat Hayvanat Bahçesindeki Bengal Kaplanı, Romeo ile Juliet, Hiç Kimsenin Öyküsü, Sihirli Kapı and Halktan Biri. He is married to Nebahat Nalan Höke, an artist with the State Classical Turkish Music Ensemble.

He made his television debut in 2000 with Dikkat Bebek Var, followed the same year by Dadı, and then roles in Tatlı Hayat (2001), Aslı ile Kerem (2002), A.G.A (2003), Yiğenek (2007), Görev Peşinde (2009) and Mavi Kelebekler (2011). After appearing in Şeref Meselesi in 2014, he played Mürsel Kara in Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz on ATV in 2015 and appeared in Ölene Kadar in 2017. Over his career he also took roles in well-known productions such as Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu, Muhteşem Yüzyıl, Ezel and Paramparça.
