Bülent Polat — Biography
Bülent Polat is a Turkish stage, television and film actor of Zaza descent, born on 8 March 1979 in Tunceli. Polat, who moved to Istanbul in 1987, began volunteering at Bakırköy Municipal Theatre in 1992 and took his first role in the 1993 play 'Sokak Kedisi'. Trained in theatre at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center, the actor built his screen career with series such as Çiçek Taksi and Yılan Hikayesi. He is remembered above all as Şehsuvar in Gülse Birsel's series Avrupa Yakası; he appeared in series such as Behzat Ç., Karagül and Çukur and in films such as Balans ve Manevra and Tut Sözünü, and won great acclaim as Gaffur in Bir Zamanlar Çukurova. In 2026 he returned to the spotlight by leaving Istanbul and building a life without electricity or phones in a village in Çanakkale with his family.
