A Widowed Woman (Dul Bir Kadın) (translated)

Dul Bir Kadın (A Widow) is a 1985 Turkish feature film directed and written by Atıf Yılmaz. Adapted from Necati Cumalı's work of the same name and produced by Kadri Yurdatap, it is regarded as one of the finest films of its period for its treatment of the sexual exploitation of women in Türkiye.

The story follows Suna, a woman divorced from her husband, and the relationship she develops with Ergun, whom she meets in an antique shop; the bond takes a new turn during a Bodrum holiday joined by her friend Ayla. Müjde Ar leads the cast alongside Nur Sürer, Yılmaz Zafer, Deniz Türkali and Bülent Polat. The film won Best Film at the 22nd Antalya Film Festival in 1985, while Orhan Oğuz received the award for best cinematography.
