Atatürk (Atatürk 1881-1919)

Atatürk 1881-1919 is a two-part Turkish biographical historical drama directed by Mehmet Ada Öztekin and written by Necati Şahin. The film portrays the youth and early military career of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, with Aras Bulut İynemli in the title role supported by a large ensemble cast. Executive produced by Saner Ayar and Cengiz Çağatay, the production comes from O3 Medya.

The project was originally conceived as a six-episode series for Disney+, but was ultimately restructured into two feature films. The first part premiered on television on the Turkish channel FOX on October 29, 2023, marking the centenary of the republic, before opening in Turkish cinemas on November 3, 2023. The sequel, titled Atatürk II 1881-1919, followed on January 5, 2024, and both parts were later released on Amazon Prime Video.
