Esra Bilgiç — Biography

Esra Bilgiç was born on October 14, 1992, in Ankara. She moved into acting while studying international relations at Bilkent University and quickly became the lead actress in one of Turkey's most watched television productions.

Her role as Halime Hatun in TRT 1's historical adventure series Diriliş: Ertuğrul, which she played from 2014 to 2018, brought her enormous recognition not only in Turkey but across the many countries where the series found a large audience. She went on to appear in Bir Umut Yeter in 2018, the crime drama Ramo as Sibel between 2020 and 2021, and Kanunsuz Topraklar between 2021 and 2022.

She entered the film industry in 2022 with the role of Cemre in Adanış: Kutsal Kavga, then played Corinne in the two-part production Atatürk 1881-1919 (2023-2024) and Alin in Romantik Hırsız (2024), also appearing around this time in the series Zamanın Kapıları; reports in early 2026 indicated she had joined a new television project. Alongside acting, Bilgiç also works as a model. She was married to footballer Gökhan Töre from 2017 to 2019, and since 2025 her relationship with businessman Faruk Sabancı has kept her in the entertainment press throughout 2026, accompanied by ongoing marriage speculation.
