Songül Öden — Biography

Songül Öden was born on February 17, 1979 in Diyarbakır. The actress, of Zaza descent, graduated from the Acting Main Art Branch of the Theatre Department of Ankara University's Faculty of Languages, History and Geography. She began her career on the stage, working at Ankara Sanat Tiyatrosu, Ankara Deneme Sahnesi and the Trabzon and Diyarbakır State Theatres.

In 2005 she became widely known with the series Gümüş, which also drew great interest in Arab countries. After Vazgeç Gönlüm and Mükemmel Çift, she consolidated her fame with Umutsuz Ev Kadınları, in which she played the character Yasemin between 2011 and 2013. In cinema she appeared in the films Acı Aşk (2009), 72. Koğuş (2011), Ekşi Elmalar (2016) and Beni Çok Sev (2021).

After the series Serçe Sarayı, Kayıtdışı, Payitaht Abdülhamid and Fi, she played in Bir Aile Hikayesi in 2019. In 2022 she appeared in Uysallar and Oğlum, and in 2023-2024 in the Atatürk 1881-1919 films. Her first story book, Eşrefi Mahlukat, was published in 2025.
