Bodrum Tale (Bodrum Masalı) (translated)

Bodrum Masalı (The Tale of Bodrum) is a 2016 Turkish television series of the romantic and coming-of-age genre. Produced by TMC Film, it aired on Kanal D; its first episode premiered on August 18, 2016, and its 42nd episode, the season finale, aired on June 18, 2017. The series was directed by Mehmet Ada Öztekin, and the screenplay was written by Başar Başaran and Emre Özdür.

At the heart of the story is Evren Ergüven, a wealthy and ambitious businessman who owns numerous hotels, and his family. Evren, along with his wife Yıldız and children Ateş and Su, leads a lavish life in Istanbul, but also maintains a secret life with another woman in Bodrum, where most of his hotels are located. A series of poor decisions leads to sudden bankruptcy, collapsing this system; the family is left with only an old house inherited from Yıldız's father and a half-share in a small hotel. Forced to abandon their luxurious life and move into this dilapidated house, the Ergüven family discovers that the other half of the hotel belongs to Faryalı, Yıldız's former lover before Evren. Thus, secrets from the past, hidden loves, and a Bodrum the children have never known become intertwined.

The lead roles were shared by Timuçin Esen, Şevval Sam, and Murat Aygen. The extended cast also included Nejat İşler, Dilan Çiçek Deniz, Hilmi Cem İntepe, Bige Önal, Ezgi Şenler, Serhan Onat, Barış Yalçın, and Serel Yereli. Filmed in Türkiye and running for forty-two episodes in a single season, the series aired its first nine episodes on Thursdays, and the remainder on Sunday evenings.
