Serel Yereli — Biography

Born Buse Serel Yereli, the actress came into the world on 19 April 1995 in the Göztepe neighborhood of Izmir, the only child in her family. Her father, Serdal Yereli, a former national handball player who had held a position with the handball federation, meant that her childhood was spent in several different countries; he died of a sudden heart attack when she was just sixteen. She began training in musical theatre in London during her middle-school years, taking lead roles in productions of Grease, Mamma Mia and Burlesque, and later studied at the Theatre Department of Yeditepe University; she speaks four languages — English, French, Italian and Spanish.

She first reached a wide audience in 2012 as a contestant on O Ses Türkiye, and after further acting training she stepped onto television screens in 2016 as Alara in the Kanal D series Bodrum Masalı, a role that marked her first major breakthrough as a professional actress.
