Ahu Sungur — Biography

Ahu Sungur was born on 5 February 1981 in Istanbul and trained in acting at the Theatre Department of Akademi İstanbul. After the program she gained stage experience with companies such as Semaver Kumpanya, Tiyatro Çisenti and Tiyatro Kedi before making her screen debut in the 1999 series Ayrılsak da Beraberiz.

In the early 2000s she took supporting roles in productions including Dadı, Kurşun Asker, Aşk Meydan Savaşı, Binbir Gece and Arka Sokaklar, followed by Affedilmeyen in 2007 and the character Asiye in Bu Kalp Seni Unutur Mu in 2009. She reached a wider audience in 2011 playing Aysun in Adını Feriha Koydum, while also appearing as Şebnem in Umutsuz Ev Kadınları. In 2014 she played Selin in the film Mandıra Filozofu and became known for the role of Hülya in the series O Hayat Benim, which ran until 2017. She went on to appear in productions such as Bir Mucize Olsun, Gülümse Kaderine, Müstakbel Damat and Dert Bende, and hosted the program Bir Şansım Olsa in 2022-2023.

Sungur married actor Suat Sungur in 2002 and has a son, Ege, born in 2005, after whose birth she stepped back from acting for a time. The couple marked their 20th wedding anniversary in 2023, and in 2026 the family shared a proud moment when their son was invited to join a national team.
