A Tale of Istanbul (Bir İstanbul Masalı) (translated)
Bir İstanbul Masalı is a Turkish romance and drama series that premiered on atv on 18 September 2003 and ended on 23 June 2005. It was produced by TMC and directed by Ömür Atay, from scripts by Gaye Boralıoğlu and Neşe Şen. The show ran for two seasons and closed with its 71st episode.
Mehmet Aslantuğ, Ahu Türkpençe, Çetin Tekindor, Arsen Gürzap, Ozan Güven and Altan Erkekli took the leading roles, while the wider ensemble included Vahide Perçin, Dolunay Soysert, Selen Uçer, Orhan Aydın and İdil Fırat. Cinematography was handled at various points by Alper Derli, Yasin Uslu, Volkan Kocatürk and Selahattin Sancaklı.
Built around the city named in its title, the series was also broadcast abroad. In Greece it was shown by Alpha TV, though without notable success there, and Arabic-language broadcasters carried it under the title "قلوب منسية".
