Erdem Akakçe — Biography

Erdem Akakçe was born on December 13, 1975, in Konya. He began his career on the theatre stage, and over the years built a reputation as one of Turkish acting's steady presences by keeping stage work alongside film.

Akakçe moved into cinema in the early 2000s, drawing attention with Korkuyorum Anne (2004) and Anlat İstanbul (2005). He went on to appear in Karanlıktakiler (2009), Nar (2011) and Ağustos Böcekleri ve Karıncalar (2017), and also joined the international co-production Rise of Empires: Ottoman (2020).

Across a career spanning more than two decades, Akakçe has never left the theatre, often describing stage discipline as the foundation of his craft.
