Life Knowledge (Hayat Bilgisi) (translated)

Hayat Bilgisi is a Turkish family, teen and comedy television series produced by Süreç Film, written by Gani Müjde and directed by Tarkan Karlıdağ. It premiered on Kanal D on 13 February 2003, wrapped its first season in June 2003, then moved to Show TV in September 2003 and ran for four seasons in total before ending with its 137th episode on 16 June 2006.

The story follows idealistic teacher Afet Güçverir (Perran Kutman), who traveled across Anatolia with her younger brother Kerem after losing their parents in a traffic accident. Favoring creative education over rote memorization, Afet has been transferred and dismissed from several schools and has never gotten over Tekin Bey, a former colleague and love she had to leave after he slapped her brother. Years later she and Kerem arrive at Istanbul's Rıdvan Kanat High School — their final stop — where Afet begins a new chapter for herself and a long life lesson for her students. With a large cast that also includes Aslı Enver, Ayberk Pekcan, Gökçe Bahadır, Mustafa Üstündağ, Eda Ece and Cavit Çetin Güner, the series is remembered for its warm humor and its gentle handling of generational conflict.
