Ayumi Takano — Biography
Ayumi Takano was born on 25 February 1973 in Tokyo. She began her studies in the Theatre Department of Nihon University's College of Art and went on to complete a degree in television drama; after joining the Oscar Promotion agency at eighteen, she worked as a stand-in in commercials before appearing in several commercials and a television series of her own.
She moved to Turkey in 1997 and, on a friend's suggestion, made her debut in Turkish cinema the following year with Her Şey Çok Güzel Olacak, later earning a graduate degree from Marmara University's Cinema-TV Department between 2000 and 2002. She became widely recognized for her role in Cem Yılmaz's 2004 film G.O.R.A., is fluent in Japanese, English and Turkish, and has long been based in Istanbul.
In early 2026 it was announced that she had joined the cast of GORA 4 GORA, reuniting the G.O.R.A. team decades later.
