From Lips to Heart (Dudaktan Kalbe) (translated)

Dudaktan Kalbe (From the Lips to the Heart) is a Turkish drama series produced by Ay Yapım, adapted from Reşat Nuri Güntekin's 1923 novel of the same name. The fifth screen adaptation of the novel, it premiered on Show TV on September 3, 2007, and ran for two seasons across 75 episodes, concluding on May 26, 2009. Its leading cast includes Aslı Tandoğan, Burak Hakkı, Özge Özder, Yiğit Özşener and Fadik Sevin Atasoy.

Transposing the story to modern-day Turkey, the series centers on Kenan, who rises from a poor childhood to become a world-renowned violinist, and Lamia, a young woman who admires his art; the love of Kenan's cousin Cemil for Lamia fuels a struggle between love, loyalty, ambition and conscience. Unlike the novel, Lamia and Cemil already know each other here, and the character Doctor Vedat is omitted. In 2013 the series also aired in Serbia as Plač Violine.
