Burak Hakkı — Biography

Burak Hakkı is a Turkish actor and former model best known for playing Hüseyin Kenan in Dudaktan Kalbe and Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad in Diriliş: Ertuğrul. Born on 23 May 1972 in Istanbul, he graduated in econometrics from Istanbul University's Faculty of Economics.

He spent about a decade as a model, appearing in more than a thousand fashion shows and sixteen commercials, and during those years won Best Model of Turkey in 1994, placed fourth at Australia's Manhunt International in 1995 and came second at the Top Méditerranée contest in Tunisia in 1997, while working with agencies in Italy, Germany, Austria, France and Switzerland. He moved into acting with the 2000 film Aşk Aynı Adreste and went on to appear in series including Gurbet Kadını, Kaybolan Yıllar, Dudaktan Kalbe, Kızım Nerede, Diriliş Ertuğrul, Üç Arkadaş and I Gefyra, alongside films such as Semum and Hava Muhalefeti.

In 2001 he married fellow actor Sema Şimşek; their son Rüzgar was born in 2008 and the couple divorced in 2012. He was later in a relationship with Greek singer and model Hara Pappa from 2016 until it ended in 2020. In 2026 he stepped back from his career and city life to settle on a large walnut farm in Çanakkale, the same year he returned to the screen alongside Aslı Tandoğan in the film Kara Fatma.
