You Are My Homeland (Vatanım Sensin) (translated)

Vatanım Sensin ("You Are My Homeland") is a Turkish period drama that ran on Kanal D from October 27, 2016 to June 7, 2018, across two seasons and 59 episodes. Produced by O3 Medya, it is set in the final years of the Ottoman Empire, in the years after World War One, during the occupation of İzmir.

Halit Ergenç plays Cevdet, a character inspired by the real-life undercover agent Mustafa Mümin Aksoy (nicknamed "Gavur Mümin"); the double life Cevdet leads for his country's sake takes a heavy toll on his wife Azize (Bergüzar Korel) and their family. Selma Ergeç appears as the writer Halide Edip Adıvar, alongside Onur Saylak, Boran Kuzum, Berker Güven, Baki Davrak, Saadet Aksoy and Fatih Artman.

Built around themes of patriotism, sacrifice and the wounds war leaves on family life, the series won Best Series at the Golden Butterfly Awards.
