Saadet Aksoy — Biography

Saadet Işıl Aksoy was born on August 29, 1983, in Istanbul and graduated from Boğaziçi University's Department of English Language and Literature. She began her career in television series such as Güz Yangını and Esir Kalpler before making her film debut in Semih Kaplanoğlu's Yumurta, a role that earned her Best Actress honors at the Valdivia International Film Festival and the Sarajevo Film Festival.

Aksoy drew wide international attention for her role opposite Penélope Cruz in Sergio Castellitto's Twice Born, earning praise from critics at outlets such as The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. In Turkey, she became known for her roles in the widely watched series Muhteşem Yüzyıl and Vatanım Sensin.

Over the course of her career she has served on the juries of the Cairo, Sarajevo, and Istanbul film festivals, and became the Turkish spokesperson for L'Oréal Paris in 2013. She continued to take on international projects with her role as Remziye in the 2018 film Saf and with Confidente in 2025.
