Serhat Tutumluer — Biography

Serhat Tutumluer was born on 29 June 1972 in Eskişehir, where he grew up. He began his university studies in sociology at Istanbul University in 1989 but completed his education at the Theatre Department of the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory. Between 1995 and 1997 he worked at the Ankara State Theatre and later spent many years with the Kocaeli City Theatre. He is a co-founder of Talimhane Theatre in Istanbul, where he continues to appear on stage.

His screen career began in the mid-1990s, followed by television roles in series such as Çaylak, Sahra, Ezo Gelin, Umutsuz Ev Kadınları, Filinta, Vatanım Sensin and Bir Umut Yeter. His portrayal of Hazar in Hercai brought him wide recognition, and after Alparslan: Büyük Selçuklu he joined the cast of Teşkilat in 2025. In cinema he appeared in Cenneti Beklerken, Devrim Arabaları and Zeki Demirkubuz's Kıskanmak and Yeraltı. He won the Best Actor award at the 27th Istanbul Film Festival for Ara and at the 14th Sadri Alışık Awards for Devrim Arabaları. He is married to fellow actor Senan Kara and has a child.
