Ayaşlı and His Tenants (Ayaşlı ile Kiracıları) (translated)

Ayaşlı ile Kiracıları (Ayaşlı and His Tenants) is a six-episode Turkish television series broadcast on TRT 1 in 1989. It was adapted for television from the novel of the same name by Memduh Şevket Esendal, with a screenplay by Turgut Yasalar and direction shared by Tunca Yönder and Handan İpekçi. Esendal's novel, set in early Republican-era Ankara, is known for depicting the social fabric of the period through the lives of tenants brought together in an apartment building, and the series carries this multi-character narrative to the screen.

A Turkish-language production from Turkey, the series features Sumru Yavrucuk in the role of İffet, alongside performers such as Tuncer Necmioğlu, Kutay Köktürk, Mehmet Atak, Gönen Bozbey, Ali Uyandıran, Ayten Uncuoğlu and Mahir Günşiray. It is remembered as one of the literary adaptations TRT favored during that era.
