Ruby-Eyed Cat (Yakut Gözlü Kedi) (translated)

Yakut Gözlü Kedi ("The Ruby-Eyed Cat") is a 1966 Turkish crime-adventure film directed by Nejat Saydam, who also adapted the screenplay from Ümit Deniz's 1961 novel of the same name.

The plot follows journalist and amateur detective Murat Davman (Cüneyt Arkın) as he investigates a murder linked to a pair of prized ruby jewels; a killing at a wealthy family's mansion turns out to be rooted in a decades-old scheme of revenge. Selda Alkor plays Aylin Molvan, Neriman Köksal her sister Serap, Muammer Gözalan the family elder Muhtar Molvan, and Hüseyin Zan a waiter at the mansion.

Combining detective-thriller suspense with romance in a style typical of Yeşilçam cinema of the era, the film is one of many genre pictures Cüneyt Arkın made during his prolific 1960s career.
