Istırap ("Suffering") is a 1973 Turkish drama written and directed by Nejat Saydam. Murat Köseoğlu produced the 86-minute picture for Acar Film, with Melih Sertesen behind the camera.

The story pits young Ali against Adnan, the fortune-hunting stepfather who caused his father's death. Because his mother is gravely ill, Ali has no choice but to endure Adnan's cruelty; denied any schooling, he grows up in the stables among the horses. After his mother dies, he is falsely accused of theft and throws himself into a lake, where Gül, a girl working at a traveling entertainment tent, finds him unconscious. Taken in by the caravan run by Ahmet and his family, Ali tastes peace and affection for the first time in his life — until the caravan stops in the town he fled, and a fight to protect Gül brings him face to face with Adnan once more.

Aytaç Arman (Ali) and Necla Nazır (Gül) play the leads, with Münir Özkul as Ahmet, Mürüvvet Sim, and Orçun Sonat as the villainous Adnan among the supporting cast.
