Hüseyin Zan — Biography
Hüseyin Zan (19 November 1930, Hatay/İzmir - 3 May 2011, Çınarcık/Yalova) was a prolific character actor of Turkish popular cinema. After only a primary-school education, he worked as a mechanic and driver before entering film acting in 1960 with "İçimizden Biri."
Known in the industry by the nickname "Oski," Zan built a career spanning more than five decades, mostly in supporting and villain roles, appearing in genre favorites such as Kilink İstanbul'da, Zagor and Akrep Yuvası, and occasionally taking lead parts. He remained active well beyond the classic Yeşilçam era, continuing to appear in television series and TV films into the 1990s and 2000s.
Remembered as one of Turkish cinema's most prolific villains, Hüseyin Zan died in Yalova in 2011, with the Turkish press marking his passing as the loss of one of Yeşilçam's defining "bad guy" faces.
