The story follows the penniless, dreamer Temel, who is mocked by everyone around him and falls in love with Zuhal, daughter of the wealthy Yücesoy family of Trabzon. After her father Hıdır Yücesoy throws him out, Temel climbs onto the roof of the Sümela Monastery to talk his friend Turgay out of suicide, and there learns from the police that a great treasure is said to be hidden inside the monastery. He sets out to crack the code and find the treasure, hoping to win Zuhal and prove himself to everyone.
