Alper Kul — Biography

İsmail Alper Kul was born on December 5, 1975 in Istanbul; he is an actor and writer. He trained as an actor at Indiana University in the United States. His first role to draw attention was Demir in the series Kınalı Kar (2002).

In cinema he played the lead role of Temel in Sümela'nın Şifresi: Temel (2011) and Moskova'nın Şifresi: Temel (2012). He played Ali in Olur Olur (2014), for which he also wrote the screenplay, and appeared in Ölümlü Dünya (2018) and its sequel Ölümlü Dünya 2 (2023). For many years from 2013 he was part of the Güldür Güldür Show cast, beloved as the character İsmail.

Also prolific on stage, Kul brought the Broadway one-man show Caveman to Türkiye; his self-written Babamın Oğlu was performed in Türkiye and Europe for three years. The artist is married to Aylin Kontente.
