Grandpa's Plug (Dedemin Fişi) (translated)

Dedemin Fişi is a 2016 Turkish comedy directed by Meltem Bozoflu, based on a story by Yılmaz Erdoğan. The screenplay was written by Murat Kepez, Eray Akyamaner, Sıla Çetindağ and Uğur Güvercin, with BKM Film handling production. The ensemble is drawn largely from the popular television sketch show Güldür Güldür, featuring performers such as Ali Sunal, Alper Kul, Onur Buldu, Onur Atilla, Doğa Rutkay, İrem Sak, Özge Borak, Meltem Yılmazkaya and Uğur Bilgin.

The film follows the inheritance saga of the Çirci family from Malatya. The family patriarch, Salih, has been declared brain dead yet remains on life support. While the relatives debate whether to unplug the machine, the long-estranged siblings, scattered across different places, converge on Malatya, each chasing a share of the old man's estate. The narrative unfolds partly through the grandson Bora, centering on the bond between grandfather and grandson while portraying a fractured family forced back together. The film premiered at BKM Theatre on January 20, 2016 and opened in cinemas on January 22, 2016.
