Ali Sunal — Biography

Ali Sunal was born on September 22, 1977 in Istanbul; he is the son of Kemal Sunal. He graduated from Istanbul University's Department of Business Administration in 1999; after working at the Sadri Alışık Cultural Center and Dormen Theatre, he joined the Tiyatro İstanbul company.

He landed his first role in 1999 as Mahmut in the film Propaganda, acting alongside his father. He became widely known as Mustafa in the series En Son Babalar Duyar (2002), and appeared in the series Benim Annem Bir Melek (2008) and Yaprak Dökümü. On the big screen he acted in Yusuf Yusuf (2014), Hayat Öpücüğü (2015), Dedemin Fişi (2016) and Hava Muhalefeti (2023).

Since 2013 he has hosted and directed the sketch programme Güldür Güldür Show on Show TV, also appearing as the character Aziz. Sunal has been married to lawyer Nazlı Kurbanzade since 2018.
