Mrs. Salkım's Diamonds (Salkım Hanımın Taneleri)

Mrs. Salkım's Diamonds is a 1999 Turkish historical drama directed by Tomris Giritlioğlu and adapted from Yılmaz Karakoyunlu's novel of the same name. Released on 19 November 1999, it collected awards at the Antalya and Istanbul film festivals, including the Golden Orange for Best Film, and was put forward as Turkey's submission for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 72nd Academy Awards, though it was not shortlisted.

Led by Hülya Avşar, Kamran Usluer, Zuhal Olcay, Uğur Polat, Derya Alabora, Güven Kıraç and Zafer Algöz, the film uses a family's fate to dramatize the minority policies of the early Turkish Republic, a subject the same author-director pairing would revisit in the 2008 companion film Güz Sancısı.
