Funda Şirinkal — Biography

Funda Şirinkal is an actress born in Melbourne in 1971 who has worked in theatre, cinema and television. She graduated from the theatre department of a fine arts faculty in İzmir and first appeared on camera in 1992. Her busiest stretch came in the second half of the 1990s, and her filmography runs into the 2010s, up to Prensesin Uykusu and Acil Servis.

Her first step was Yağmur Beklerken in 1992. Over the next four years she took part in productions such as Rüstemin Gazinosu, Umut Dünyası, Çiçek Taksi, Gizli Aşk, Bir Kadının Anatomisi, Tatlı Kaçıklar, Başka İstanbul Yok and Bir Erkeğin Anatomisi. Her richest years were 1998 to 2000: she acted in the films Cumhuriyet, Gemide and Laleli'de Bir Azize, sharing the cast of the last two with İştar Gökseven, Güven Kıraç and Cengiz Küçükayvaz. Over the same period, Tele Dadı, Çiçeği Büyütmek, Salkım Hanımın Taneleri, Yılan Hikâyesi, Akasya Pasajı and Yalan Dünya also appear in her filmography.

She carried on in the 2000s with Bir İstanbul Masalı (2003) and Kabuslar Evi: Takip (2006). She played Aygül in Prensesin Uykusu (2010), joined the cast of Bir Gevrek, Bir Boyoz, İki de Kumru in 2013 and returned to television with the series Acil Servis.
