Ten Women (On Kadın)

Ten Women is a 1987 Turkish drama film directed by Şerif Gören. The production consists of nine separate short segments portraying women from different backgrounds and social classes, with Türkan Şoray playing every one of these women.

Written by Hüseyin Kuzu, the film has Şoray embody a wide range of female types, from a village woman to a journalist, from a gypsy to a feminist, offering a broad gallery of women's portraits within a single work. Each segment focuses on a different woman's life and the difficulties she faces.

In this way the film builds a narrative that draws attention to women's place in society and their problems. Şoray is supported by familiar performers of the period, including Erdal Özyağcılar, Okday Korunan, Bilal İnci and Songül Ülkü.
