Gülşen Tuncer — Biography

Gülşen Tuncer (born October 20, 1945, in Adana) is a versatile Turkish artist who has worked across theater, film, and television acting as well as voice acting, lyric writing, composing, and art direction. After finishing high school in Istanbul, she trained at the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory’s theater department and made her professional stage debut in 1968 in Haldun Taner’s play “Zilli Zarife,” sharing the lead with Gülriz Sururi. Later in her career she managed the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s Tepebaşı stage and Ankara’s Çağdaş Sahne, and worked as assistant director on numerous films.

She became widely known to television audiences for playing “Arsen Hanım” in the series Aşk-ı Memnu, and went on to appear in shows such as O Hayat Benim and Fazilet Hanım ve Kızları, later portraying Semra Dağlı in the 2022 series Hakim. Over an artistic career spanning more than five decades, she has also appeared on screen in films including Berdel, A Ay, and Soğuktu ve Yağmur Çiseliyordu.
