A ay is a 1988 black-and-white Turkish drama and the first feature film written and directed by Reha Erdem. Running about 100 minutes, it already displays the atmospheric, poetic storytelling style that would come to define the director's later work.

The story centers on Yekta, a young boy living with his grandfather and aunt. His mother left home years earlier, rowing away in a boat and never returning. One day Yekta claims to have seen her body in a boat drifting away from the house, but no one believes him. The boy then decides to set off in a boat himself, while his family struggles to protect him. Starring Gülşen Tuncer, Kutluğ Ataman and Münir Özkul, the film was screened in a restored version at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival decades after its original release.
