Endless Love (Kara Sevda)

Kara Sevda, released internationally as Endless Love, is a Turkish romantic drama produced by Ay Yapım and broadcast on Star TV from 14 October 2015 to 21 June 2017, running for 74 episodes across two seasons. Directed by Hilal Saral and produced by Kerem Çatay, with a script written by Anıl Eke, Özlem Yılmaz and Burcu Görgün, it stars Burak Özçivit, Neslihan Atagül and Kaan Urgancıoğlu, supported by Hazal Filiz Küçükköse, Kürşat Alnıaçık, Burak Sergen, Zerrin Tekindor, Zeyno Eracar, Orhan Güner, Neşe Baykent, Barış Alpaykut and Melisa Aslı Pamuk. The project initially set out under the title "Düş Bahçesi" and was renamed Kara Sevda after a change of director.

The series charts the near-impossible love between Kemal, a young mining engineer from a modest background, and Nihan, a painter born into a wealthy family. Forced to sacrifice her love to protect a family secret, Nihan sets in motion a story of class difference, obsession and a reckoning that stretches across the years.

In 2017 Kara Sevda became the first Turkish series ever to win the International Emmy Award for Best Telenovela, and it also received the special jury award at the Seoul International Drama Awards; four years after its finale it was named Best International Soap at the 2021 Soap Awards in France. Broadcast in more than 110 countries and translated into over 50 languages, it became the most-watched foreign soap opera in United States history during its run on Univision, drawing over two million viewers a day and close to four million for its final episode.
