Metin Coşkun — Biography

Metin Coşkun, born in 1948 in Istanbul, is a Turkish theatre actor, director and voice actor. He began his artistic career in 1970 and, between 1980 and 1994, performed in nearly twenty plays at the Ankara Sanat Tiyatrosu; alongside private companies such as Yeni Tiyatro and Dostlar Tiyatrosu, he worked as both actor and director in more than sixty productions at the Ankara State Theatre, and in 1982 won a best actor prize from the Sanat Kurumu.

He moved in front of the camera with the 2002 series En Son Babalar Duyar, later appearing in Başka Dilde Aşk, Vay Arkadaş, Muhteşem Yüzyıl, as Belalı Naim in Suskunlar and as Hakkı Alacahan in Kara Sevda. His breakout with wider audiences came as Hikmet Derenoğlu in Masumlar Apartmanı (2020-2022); around the same time, in 2021, he won a best actor award at an independent film festival. He went on to appear in Çukur, as Yılmaz Dayı in Ömer, and as Efraim in the 2025 series Veliaht. In 2023 he was among 226 signatories of the founding declaration of the Sosyalist Güç Birliği, formed ahead of Turkey's presidential and parliamentary elections.
