Barış Alpaykut — Biography

Barış Alpaykut is an actor who appeared in Turkish television series of the 2010s and is best known as Ozan in Kara Sevda. Besides acting, he drew press attention for roughly fifteen years of samurai and traditional karate training. He now lives in Japan.

Born Metin Barış, he graduated from Istanbul University's Department of Theatre in 2009. He entered acting through commercials, and his first professional experience was the series Bir Zamanlar Osmanlı Kıyam. His early work includes Kirli Beyaz (2010), the television film Gümüş Lale (2011) and the third and fourth seasons of Sakarya Fırat. 2014 was a busy year: he appeared in both seasons of Kurt Seyit ve Şura and joined the second season of Medcezir as Uzay, a part that one entertainment item described as making him the new favourite of young viewers.

His wider breakthrough came with Kara Sevda, which began in 2015 with Burak Özçivit and Neslihan Atagül in the leads; he stayed on screen in its first season and in the second season in 2016. The series is known abroad as Endless Love, and Medcezir as Ebb and Tide.
