Gökay Müftüoğlu — Biography

Gökay Müftüoğlu was born on 7 July 1986 in Rize and completed his primary and secondary schooling in the Bornova district of Izmir. After graduating from the Acting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dokuz Eylül University, he studied space design and acting at the University of Amsterdam, and began his stage career at the Bornova Municipal Theatre and the Istanbul State Theatre.

He made his screen debut in 2011 as Onur in Cennetin Sırları, then played Türker in Ağır Roman: Yeni Dünya in 2012. In 2013 he took on the role of Fırat in A.Ş.K. and also appeared in Muhteşem Yüzyıl that same year; in 2014 he played Caner in Emanet. He then played Salih in the long-running series Kara Sevda (2015-2016) and reached a wide audience as Hasan in the Kanal D series Muhteşem İkili (2018-2019).

In the years since, he played Fatih in Arıza (2020-2021), Diego in Barbaroslar: Akdeniz'in Kılıcı (2021), and Suat and Hasan respectively in Ateş Kuşları and Ömer (2023-2024), before joining the cast of Çift Kişilik Oda in 2025. On screen he also appeared in films such as Karışık Kaset, Sivil, Dünya Hali, Mitat and Döngü, while continuing to work in theatre.
