Orhan Güner — Biography
Orhan Güner was born on 17 August 1954 in Ankara, to a family from the Çamlıhemşin district of Rize. He began his artistic life in the 1980s with Turkish theatres in Germany, notably writing plays for and directing the Turkish ensemble within Berlin's Schaubühne.
In Türkiye he moved into television in 2011 with Bir Günah Gibi. His role as Chief Inspector İzzet in the 2013 series Galip Derviş brought him wide recognition, and between 2015 and 2017 he played Hüseyin Soydere in Kara Sevda. His film credits include Duvara Karşı (Head-On, 2004) and Beyond the Sea (2004).
The plays he wrote have been staged repeatedly in Germany, and works such as İkinci Nöbetçinin Sıkıntıları and Sevdalı Bulut have also been performed in Türkiye by the Ankara State Theatres and the İstanbul City Theatres.
