The Hunt (Av) (translated)

Av ("The Hunt") is a 1989 Turkish action drama directed by Melih Gülgen from a screenplay by Safa Önal. The story centers on a blood feud between two families: Bekir, released from prison, wants no part in continuing it, but the rival family has not let go of its grudge — and after his younger brother, visiting from Germany, is killed, Bekir flees to Istanbul with the feud still on his trail.

Cüneyt Arkın stars as Bekir and Serdar Gökhan as Yusuf, with Gülben Ergen appearing as Meral. Driven by tension and pursuit, the film bears the hallmarks of the hard-edged action cinema that flourished in Turkey at the end of the 1980s.
