Two Women (İki Kadın) (translated)

İki Kadın (Two Women) is a 1992 Turkish drama directed by Yavuz Özkan, who wrote the screenplay together with Baran Seyhan. Produced by Aycan Çetin as a Z Film and Kanal 6 production, it features cinematography by Ertunç Şenkay and music by Berrak Taranç. At the 12th International Istanbul Film Festival the picture was named Best Turkish Film of the Year.

Inspired by a real incident, the story centers on a married government minister who abuses and rapes a prostitute in a hotel room and finds himself cornered when the scandal grows and reaches the press. The film draws particular power from the scenes in which the politician's wife and the prostitute come to know one another and grow close.

Haluk Bilginer and Zuhal Olcay head the cast, which also includes Serap Aksoy, Tunca Yönder and Turgay Tanülkü.
