Serap Aksoy — Biography
Serap Aksoy was born on June 24, 1964, in Istanbul. A graduate of the Ballet Department of the Istanbul State Conservatory, she trained in ballet at the Munich Music Academy and performed as a professional dancer with the State Opera and Ballet.
She entered film with productions such as Değirmen (1986) and Yer Demir Gök Bakır (1987), and drew attention for her roles in C Blok (1994) and Yağmur: Kıyamet Çiçeği (2014). Over a career spanning more than thirty-eight years, she has taken on numerous roles in theatre, film, and television series, and is a member of ÇASOD, the Turkish contemporary film actors' association.
She was married to former minister and politician Aydın Güven Gürkan until his death. In September 2025, she was honored with the Honorary Award at the 62nd Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, shared with fellow actor Settar Tanrıöğen.
