Rain: Flower of the Apocalypse (Yağmur: Kıyamet Çiçeği) (translated)

Rain: Flower of the Apocalypse is a 2014 Turkish drama film. Written and directed by Onur Aydın, the production draws on the life story of Kazım Koyuncu, the Black Sea musician who died young. It opened in cinemas on 12 December 2014.

The narrative centres on Kazım during his university years and his devotion to music. After being detained over his political convictions and suspended from school, the young man resolves to start a new chapter and commit himself entirely to music. Persuading his family and those around him to accept this path, however, turns into a far more painful struggle than he expected.

The leading roles are shared by Engin Hepileri, Erkan Kolçak Köstendil and Altan Erkekli, with seasoned performers such as Devrim Yakut, Settar Tanrıöğen and Hüseyin Avni Danyal also in the ensemble. At the 21st Adana Golden Koza Film Festival, the film received the SİYAD Best Film prize along with the Audience and Jury Special awards.
