Settar Tanrıöğen — Biography

Settar Tanrıöğen was born on 22 October 1960 in Denizli. A graduate of the Department of Archaeology and Art History at Hacettepe University, the veteran actor discovered theater in the 1980s and began performing on stage within Ankara's art circles.

He made his film debut in the 1996 movie Eşkıya, and a year later became widely known for playing Saldıray in the series Bir Demet Tiyatro. He went on to appear in productions such as Takva, Vavien, Çoğunluk and Gölgeler ve Suretler, as well as the series Urfalıyam Ezelden, Sultan, Babam Sağolsun, Baba Candır and Kuzgun.

After suffering a brain hemorrhage in early 2026, Tanrıöğen underwent treatment before returning to set work once he recovered. Over a career spanning nearly three decades, he has become known as one of Turkish cinema and television's most respected actors.
