Hikmet Karagöz — Biography
Hikmet Karagöz was born on December 31, 1946, in the Vezirköprü district of Samsun. He began performing in amateur theater at the Eminönü Halkevi before making his film debut in "Faize Hücum."
Over a career spanning more than 36 years, he appeared in over a hundred films and television series, becoming best known for playing "Abbas" in the sitcom Bizimkiler. He also appeared in productions such as Yeditepe İstanbul, Son İstasyon, Kuzu, Memleket, and Bir Zamanlar Çukurova, establishing himself as one of the familiar faces of Turkish television.
Alongside acting, Karagöz was also a painter, working mainly in watercolor from 1986 onward and holding seven solo exhibitions. He died in Istanbul on October 27, 2020, at the age of 73.
