Sait Genay — Biography

Sait Genay was born on March 20, 1953 in Istanbul. After graduating from the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory, he began his professional theatre career in 1970; alongside acting he also worked as a musician. From 1988 to 1994 he spent six years at the Gönül Ülkü Gazanfer Özcan Theatre, then worked at the Bakırköy Municipal Theatres, and in the 2007-2008 season joined Duru Theatre as a guest actor in the play Aşk Her Yerde. On television he appeared in numerous series such as Tatlı Kaçıklar, Yılan Hikayesi, Kurtlar Vadisi, Aliye, Sakarya Fırat, Diğer Yarım, Aile İşi and Baraj; in cinema he acted in films including Devrim Arabaları, Evim Sensin, Senin Hikayen and Her Şey Seninle Güzel. In 2018 he drew wide attention with the character Osman in the series Sen Anlat Karadeniz, broadcast on ATV. The veteran actor, who portrayed Hayri Dede in the series Kendi Düşen Ağlamaz in 2023, has also done voice-over work.
