Gürkan Uygun — Biography
Gürkan Uygun, born on 27 May 1974 in İzmit, is a Turkish theatre, television and film actor of Georgian descent. He took up theatre in high school, continued at the Istanbul University State Conservatory and on the Dormen Theatre stage, and moved into television in the mid-1990s. His breakthrough came as Memati Baş in the series Kurtlar Vadisi (2003), a role he played for nine years and carried into the films Kurtlar Vadisi Irak (2006) and Kurtlar Vadisi Filistin (2011). He later portrayed Serhat Hakeri in Kaçak (2013), Halil Halid in Payitaht Abdülhamid (2017) and Hasan Sabbah in Uyanış: Büyük Selçuklu (2020), and stood out in cinema with Cep Herkülü: Naim Süleymanoğlu (2019). In 2024 he played Kürşat Kilimci in the series Bir Gece Masalı, and in 2026 he joined the cast of the film Kantin, which began shooting that year.
