Somuncu Baba: The Secret of Love (Somuncu Baba Aşkın Sırrı) (translated)

Somuncu Baba: The Secret of Love is a Turkish historical drama directed by Kürşat Kızbaz and Müge Kıraner, adapted from Mahmut Ulu's novel of the same name. Released in Türkiye on April 1, 2016, the film portrays the life of Sheikh Hamid-i Veli, the Sufi mystic known in Anatolia as Somuncu Baba.

It follows young Hamid, who, after the trauma of losing his father, devotes himself to a dervish lodge, baking bread and pursuing religious studies while gradually embarking on a journey in search of divine love. Depicted as one of the intellectual foundations reaching from Hacı Bayram-ı Veli to Akşemsettin, Somuncu Baba is played by Furkan Palalı, with Tuvana Türkay, Fırat Tanış, Gürkan Uygun, Sinan Albayrak, and Haldun Boysan among the cast.
