Lady Cazibe's Daydreams (Cazibe Hanımın Gündüz Düşleri) (translated)

Directed by İrfan Tözüm from a script credited to Macit Koper, this 1992 drama centers on a woman named Cazibe who is nearing the end of her thirties and has never married. Aytekin Çakmakçı served as cinematographer on the picture.

Kept under the thumb of her mother Füruzan and an uncle, Behçet, who is secretly infatuated with her, the heroine withdraws from ordinary life and retreats into her own room, where she conjures fantasies about a love from her school days. One night a young man named Kürşat slips into her house to hide, and in her mind he merges with that imagined figure, leading to an unplanned closeness between them; a note she discovers the next morning makes it harder than ever for her to separate fantasy from reality.

Hale Soygazi and Uğur Polat headline the picture, with Suna Selen, Macit Koper, Halil Ergün and Yaman Okay rounding out the supporting company. Warmly received on release, the film went on to pick up several prizes on the festival circuit.
