Five Minarets in New York (New York'ta Beş Minare)

Five Minarets in New York is a 2010 action thriller written, directed by, and starring Mahsun Kırmızıgül, its title drawn from the Turkish folk song "Bitlis'te Beş Minare." Produced by Boyut Film, the story moves between Istanbul, New York, and Bitlis, following two Turkish police officers sent to the United States to take custody of a wanted suspect known by the codename "Deccal." What seems like a straightforward mission becomes an examination of the prejudice and paranoia toward Islam that spread after the 9/11 attacks.

The cast also features Haluk Bilginer, Mustafa Sandal, Danny Glover, Gina Gershon, and Robert Patrick. After an Istanbul premiere on 4 November 2010, the film opened on 5 November 2010 and drew more than 700,000 viewers in its first three days, becoming one of the year's biggest Turkish box-office successes.
