Mahsun Kırmızıgül — Biography

Mahsun Kırmızıgül, born Abdullah Bazencir on 26 March 1969 in Diyarbakır, trained in music at the Istanbul Technical University State Conservatory before breaking into the music industry in 1994 with the album "Alem Buysa Kral Sensin". Of Zaza descent, he also built a business career as a partner in Prestij Müzik, one of Turkey's leading music production companies, until 2002.

From the 2000s he shifted increasingly toward directing: Beyaz Melek (2007), in which he also starred, won best film and best director at the Houston film festival, and he went on to direct Güneşi Gördüm (2009) and New York'ta Beş Minare (2010).

As an actor he became known for productions including Aşka Sürgün (2005), Vezir Parmağı (2017) and Mucize (2014) and its sequel Mucize 2: Aşk (2019). In July 2026 he performed for a crowd of around 100,000 in İskenderun, calling it a night he would never forget.
