Save Me (Kurtar Beni) (translated)
Kurtar Beni is a 1988 (some sources list 1987) Turkish drama directed by Halit Refiğ and co-written with Mustafa Kutlu, produced by Türker İnanoğlu. It follows Ayten, who works alongside her friend Okşan as a sex worker, and her relationship with imam Salih, whom she meets while visiting a mosque to pray — a bond that deepens despite the social prejudice surrounding it.
Starring Gülşen Bubikoğlu, Talat Bulut, Fatoş Sezer and Tanju Gürsu, the film follows Ayten's reckoning with her past and her struggle to protect Salih.
